Studio Slant to host gallery opening
By The messenger-inquirer
Studio Slant, a young art studio and boutique, will open a gallery show featuring Diane Huff’s artwork from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the studio, 412 E. Second St.
Huff’s paintings and drawings for the event focus on the human form and movement, some of them depicting dancers, said gallery curator Katherine Taylor.
“We try to find artists who can inspire and fit our theme,” Taylor said.
Taylor said Studio Slant aims to avoid the “oatmealization of society,” opting for original, hand-made merchandise, such as jewelry, vases and stuffed toys.
“Everything is mass-produced, leaving people with the same things,” Taylor said. “But, our items are unique and made with love,” Taylor said.
The studio is regularly open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
