HOUSTON -- Bobby Sapp, 46, of Houston, formerly of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at Ben Taub Hospital, Houston. He was born March 8, 1972, to Michael (Debbie) Sapp Sr. and Margaret (Butch) Bennet. Bobby loved to read, he was a gamer and his passion was learning.

Bobby graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School and went on to graduate from Oklahoma University. He also studied environmental studies/GIS at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Bobby was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank B. Harris; and his paternal grandparents, Otis and Gladys Sapp.

Along with his parents, Bobby is survived by his sister, Catherine Feldman; his stepbrothers, Ken, Brian and Dan Bennett, their spouses and their children; his maternal grandmother, Ann Riney Harris; his nieces, Rae (Dillion) Nash and Shelby (Kevin) Mays; his nephews, Logan and Corbin Feldman; his great-nephews, Ezra Jones and Emmett Nash; and a great-niece, Aubrey Nash. He also is survived by his aunts, Sue (Jack) Brown, Elizabeth Morris, Martha (Ron) Harl and Theresa (Kenny) McCarty and his uncle, David (Jan) Harris, all of Owensboro; his uncles, Stephen (Elaine) Harris of Houston and John (Wenny) Harris of Alpharetta, Georgia; and a paternal aunt, Debbie Martin. Bobby had cousins galore. He loved his family deeply and was a caring and gentle soul.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
