American Flags Presented

Capt. Matthew Engle, left and Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Sims presents an American flag that flew over the Al Asad Airbase in Iraq to Kelly May and Emiley Fallaway from Audubon Elementary School on Monday during a ceremony at Smothers Park. Thirty flags flew on different days over the Al Asad Airbase in Iraq throughout the deployment of the Kentucky National Guard 206th Engineer Battalion from Owensboro. Students from all schools in the Daviess County Public Schools district participated in the Kentucky Remembers Adopt-A-Soldier Care Package program during the last school year. Representatives from each DCPS school that participated in the Adopt the Soldier project attended and received their school flag.
