Strong storms that moved through the Owensboro area on Monday knocked out the second half of the Owensboro Catholic-Apollo game in the 9th District girls' soccer tournament and postponed the Daviess County-Owensboro game completely.

The tournament resumes Tuesday with the second half of Catholic-Apollo going at 7:20 p.m. at Steele Stadium on the campus of Kentucky Wesleyan College. The Lady Aces led 5-0 at halftime Monday.

Daviess County-Owensboro will play at 8:20 p.m. The games were moved because of conditions at Apollo's field, according to Apollo athletics director Jon Boultinghouse.

The winners of the two first-round games will meet on Thursday night at the Shifley Park soccer complex. Game time will be decided later.
