Chainbreakers Gym takes 1st place 1

Chainbreakers Gym members gather for a group photo at the NASA Natural National Powerlifting Championships.

This past weekend, Chainbreakers Gym, a local nonprofit based in Shrewsbury, traveled to Oklahoma City and competed in the Natural Athlete Strength Association (NASA) Natural National Powerlifting Championships.

Chainbreakers cleaned house, taking 1st Place in the overall team championship.

Individually, Cory Clemons was the 198-pound Retro National Champion, setting multiple State and National Records in the process.

Mark Williams was the 275 Retro National Champion and also broke multiple State and National Records.

Robert McKinzie was the 275 Equipped National Champion.

Dakota Baker was the 308+ National Champion breaking State Records along the way.

The next meeting will be May 9 at Grayson County High School. That will be the NASA Kentucky State championships.
