The strict editor-in-chief at a fashion magazine on ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ was played by Meryl Streep in 2006 and three-time Academy Award winner received her 14th Oscar nomination for the role. As one of the most higly acclaimed actresses of all time, it comes as no surprise that the 'Sophie's Choice' star commanded top dollar for the role. According to The Richest, the film star got $5 million for her work.

In summer 2020, The New York Times coordinated a nationwide project to document the lives of Americans out of work because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
