You can’t tell from the weather lately that Christmas break is upon us. I can’t remember the last time I did my Christmas shopping when it was 70 degrees outside. Calhoun Elementary students performed a Christmas Around The World Concert on Dec 10. Mr. Hembruch has worked hard with the kids this year and I loved all the songs they sang. Everyone did a great job.

Beech Grove Chapel United Methodist Church invites you to join them in celebrating the birth of Jesus. The youth of Beech Grove UMC will be hosting a birthday brunch in honor of Jesus. Their goal is to not lose focus on the reason for this Christmas season which is why they will be celebrating with a birthday brunch. Everyone is invited to join them for brunch and birthday cake 9 a.m. Sunday and they ask that you bring your family and friends as no birthday party is complete without family and friends.  The Beech Grove United Methodist will also be holding a candlelight Christmas Eve service 5 p.m. at the church and all are welcome.

Beulah General Baptist Church will have a Christmas program during their morning worship service this Sunday. Everyone is invited.

Happy Birthday to the following folks: Marian Winstead Dec. 14, Debbie Lloyd and Rebekah West Dec. 16, Stephanie Troutman Dec. 17, Kim Smith Dec. 18, Melinda Huckleberry Dec. 19, Ashley Martin and Bernie Miller-Wells Dec. 20, Tammy Willoughby Dec. 22, Debra Mauzy Dec. 23 and a special birthday wish goes out to my daughter, Samantha, who celebrated her 19th birthday on the 14.

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” –Matthew 1:21-23 KJV
