Kentucky State Police are investing a two-vehicle wreck that killed a Livermore man an injured two others, according to a press release.
Police say there were notified of the wreck at approximately 4:15 p.m. by McLean County authorities. Preliminary investigation reveals Phillip R. Atherton, 72 of Livermore and Phillip C. Atherton, 44 of Livermore were in a Kubota (side by side) UTV stopped at Barrett Hill Road and US 431, about four miles north of Livermore.
Elmo L. West, 87 of Utica was on US 431 traveling north in his 2001 Mercury Marquis. Investigators believe Phillip R. Atherton failed to see West and pulled out onto US 431 and into the path of West.
Phillip R. Atherton was pronounced dead on scene by McLean County Coroner's Office and Phillip C. Atherton and Elmo West were both injured and taken by ambulance to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. At last check, both were listed in critical condition.

Kentucky State Police troopers were assisted by McLean County Coroner's Office, McLean County Sheriff's Department; Livermore Fire Department and Central District Fire Department.
The investigation is considered on-going.
