The McLean County co-ed soccer team ended their first season on May 25 with a loss to Apollo in the end-of-season tournament. Apollo ended up winning the entire tournament.
The referee came over after the game and told the McLean County team that he really enjoyed them playing in the league and hopes they will participate next year. The players and parents also expressed a similar sentiment.
"It was a fun experience for everyone," shared coach Ricky Humphrey. "The girls got much better playing with and against boys. The boys had a good time playing a sport most of them had never played."
Although the co-ed recreational league has come to an end for this season, soccer is still alive in McLean County. There will be a $2 admission for non-players and concessions will be available.

There will be a kids' soccer camp for grades K-6th at the high school from 6-7 p.m. July 15-19. The cost is $25 and participants may register on that Monday.
