DaVita Kidney Care recently announced its Owensboro facilities were recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for the clinics' quality of patient care.

The DaVita Owensboro Dialysis Center and DaVita Owensboro Home Dialysis programs received five-star ratings.

The five-star rating system was created to increase transparency and help empower patients and their families to make informed decisions about their care, the DaVita press release said. The five-star rating is the highest a facility can achieve.

"It's great for patients here in Owensboro and the surrounding areas to know about the five-star program and where they can compare dialysis centers to help make an informed decision about where to access high-quality care," said Erica Porter, outreach development manager for DaVita Kidney Care. "To have two centers in our community achieve five-star ratings is a testament to DaVita's commitment to patient outcomes and satisfaction."
