Third Region champion Breckinridge County is in the KHSAA State Baseball Tournament semifinals.

The Fighting Tigers earned their spot in the final four with an eight-inning, 10-6 conquest of Beechwood in a quarterfinal game that began on Wednesday night, was suspended due to lightning and rain, and concluded on Thursday at Whitaker Bank Park in Lexington.

Jacob Ball and Cole Tabor each hit home runs for Breck County (29-5), which scored five runs in the third inning and broke a 6-all tie by scoring four times in the top of the eighth inning.

Brock Lucas scored three runs for Breck County, which also got three RBIs from Tabor and two from Ball. Isaac Seeger and Cohl Proctor also drove in runs.

Lucas picked up the pitching victory in relief of starter Preston Cottrell.

Beechwood finished its season 38-2.
